As you are shortlisting possible suppliers for your upcoming event, you might find these questions / checklist handy for picking the best catering services provider for you:

  • How long have you been in the catering industry?
  • Do you have photos of past events and references from past clients?
  • Can you cater my event within my budget?
  • Can we schedule a food-tasting session?
  • What packages do you offer and what are the standard inclusions?
  • Can you accommodate special dietary requirements?
  • Where will you prepare the food?
  • Are the serving staff included in the price?
  • What is the ratio of staff to guests?
  • Who and how many will be in charge of us during our actual day of event?
  • Have you catered a wedding at our chosen venue before?
  • What are your water and electrical needs?
  • When is the final guest count due? Can you accommodate unexpected guests? What is the additional charge?
  • Can you accommodate vendor meals, and, if so, what is the cost?
  • What do you do with leftovers?
  • What is the cancellation/postponement policy?
  • How far in advance do I need to book?
  • How much is the deposit to secure the date and when does it need paying by?
  • Is VAT included in the price?
  • Are your business license, sanitary health permits etc updated?
